Karate Klub Dublin Punk Comp LP

Karate Klub Dublin Punk Comp LP

It is with great honour that we get to help in the release of a benefit LP of the Karate Klub. In the heart of the city of Dublin across an alley from Bohemians FC (which is also a venue for many punk gigs) there is an unassuming a metal door which is the Karate Klub home/practice space to many of Dublin's punk & hardcore bands like Rats Blood, Disguise, Surge, Grit, Sissy, Strong Boys.....and the list goes on.  Some of you may have caught the spread in MRR issue 418 (Mar 2018) all about the Karate Klub you can read it here please also pick up a copy of MRR here, which will inform you so much more than I ever could also anyone looking to check out some of the bands from the Karate Klub check out Equalizing Distort podcast from 11th March here.

As it is a Comp LP which will give a lot of cool bands a chance to get on to some wax it is also a benefit LP to keep spaces like the Karate Klub up and running and Distro-y will donate all proceeds raised from the record to the Karate Klub so make sure you pick up a copy!!

I will bring you band listing and more details on the vinyl details soon but for now get excited as this LP should be out later this year. While you read the article from MRR I guess an appropriate song to listen to is Rats Blood - Dublins Got HC

MAREE NOIRE 7" Coming Out Soon on Distro-y Records

MAREE NOIRE 7" Coming Out Soon on Distro-y Records

Here are 4 songs of implacable d-beat hardcore emergency. These guys music and words sound like a response to an oppressive and crushing world, a frank and direct blow. MAREE NOIRE is a new band made by some (still young) punk veterans who played in an impressive number of bands and still play in bands like Better Off Dead, Bleakness and Syndrome 81 just to name a few. Expect some disillusioned vitriolic lyrics in French. It's another Destructure release recorded and mixed at the great Swan Sound studio by Guillaume Doussaud. The cover is a dark and realistic drawing by Barcelona based tattoo artist Sztuka Wojny.

Listen to MAREE NOIRE below the release is due out in February on Distro-y Records, Destructure Records, Donnez Moi Du Feu and Offside Records

BAILER announce self-titled EP, release video for 'Long Gone' & confirm tour dates

BAILER announce self-titled EP, release video for 'Long Gone' & confirm tour dates

Metal/hardcore quartet BAILER return with their new self-titled EP, due for release on 9th February 2018 via Distro-y Records. Following on from 2017’s PTSD and 2016’s Shaped By The Landscape, BAILER is an ambitious collection of tracks that showcase a band who have truly discovered their sound.

In light of the announcement BAILER have released the video for their single 'Long Gone', which features Adam Carroll (formerly of Zoax). First premiered on the band's Facebook page, check out the video below:

      Pre-order BAILER:

      Physical: https://distrotable.com/collections/bailer
      Digital: https://bailerofficial.bandcamp.com/

Returning to work with Murdock’s Aidan Cunningham, BAILER is relentless from the get-go as the merciless ‘Lying For A Living’ brings the listener up to speed in a riotous fashion, while the likes of ‘Tuesday Blues’ and ‘Death Is A Reminder’ take a filthier route, reminiscent of Cancer Bats. Since forming in 2015 BAILER have pricked the ears of many other musicians, with some familiar faces lending their vocals to this latest EP. Adam Carroll formerly of Zoax, Xander Coughlan of Emigra and Kevin ‘Lefty’ Letford of Red Enemy all feature, adding their own slice of character to the record.

With a small discography the four-piece have impressively garnered attention from Metal Hammer, Kerrang! Radio presenter Alex Baker, Metal Injection and Heavy Blog Is Heavy, an achievement that is no mean feat for a band so early into their career. BAILER have spent their short time as a band building up a strong reputation in their home ground, having played shows alongside Norma Jean, Sick Of It All, Employed To Serve, HECK, Murdock, Shields, Red Enemy and more.
