NL #2: Record of The Week, Top of The Punks (Chart) and more

We have been working hard and are expecting lots of records in, in the coming couple of months as we try to create an all encompassing punk distro table like the one you find at the back of a gig but with something for everyone we are based in Ireland a punk scene that takes many shapes and forms the idea is to be an outlet to them all ambitious eh? but we are getting there I know we all have our individual tastes and this newsletter is to open your tastes to other aspects of punk. And I got this one done early on a Friday lets hope this continues once again let me know what else you want to see in this newsletter and I hope you find something you like in it.

Record Of Dis Week:Angel Du$t - Brand New Soul 12"

Angel Du$t are back with a new 12", this being their 5th album and with them on the go for over 10 years sometimes I can be very skeptical about new albums but having followed Angel Du$t over the years I have learned to not be skeptical of new material but to embrace it as their new record is not going to sound anything like their previous. All fine albums
I was chatting with Jesse of Mr. Face Records at the weekend and he summed A.D. up perfectly for me he said they are like Ceremony every album takes a different direction. So with Brand New Soul who knew where they were going to go, but I feel for me they pull all their previous directions on to the one record with Brand New Soul, with 'Born 2 Run' & 'I'm Not Ready' sounding like they could be on  'YAK: A Collection Of Truck Songs', 'Racecar' reminding me of 'Pretty Buff' and 'Space Jam', Slippin' Lysol  harking back to 'Rock The Fuck On Forever'. Brand New Soul sounds like what I would expect a greatest hits of Angel Du$t to sound like but if it was all new tracks as they seem to bridge between hardcore underground with something bigger and catchier.
ANGEL DU$T "BRAND NEW SOUL"12" is now on the table get your copy or listen here.

Latest Release from our imprint Distro-y Records is new 12" Potere Negativo - Benvenuto All'Inferno the from Milano and Valtellina (the mountain area north of Milano, nearby Switzerland) Italy bringing D-beat/Hardcore punk in the vein of 80/90's Italiano  mixed with a gentle Black Metal touch. Potere Negativo bring a huge yet raw driving D-beat hardcore that has a  sinister element with snarling vocals that summons up the idea that in essence Potere NEgativo can only be described as the sound an enormous door slamming in the depths of hell. THis is 10 tracks of Italian hardcore in the vein of Wrectched, Raw Power,  Indigesti on one side and the reverse a silk screen side.

A couple of new pre-orders are available on the table the idea of these pre-orders is so you can pre-order records ahead of time so you dont miss out on coloured versions and you dont have to pay 2-3 times the postage.

Night Fever from Copenhagen new LP Dead End is available on Green vinyl and Black Vinyl out the 2nd February on Svart Records. Night Fever has been delivering their Danish brand of K-Town hardcore since 2007, with their mix of old school hardcore and heavy metal into a razor-sharp unit which will make your speakers bleed sweat! Dead End is undeniably the tightest and most furious Night Fever album yet.

PRE-ORDER NIGHT FEVER - DEAD END 12"

NAUSEA are finally getting the reissue treatment starting with Cybergod/Lie Cycle 12"  we have copies on Red Vinyl a & Black Vinyl and I think one or two copies left on Clear with Black Smoke Vinyl available to pre-order with a release date set for end of March dont miss the coloured versions.
NYC crust punk band Nausea’s two legendary EP’s on one remastered 12” The Cybergod lineup might be the most legendary era of Nausea, where the tracks reach almost epic proportions. The EP is pretty much the blueprint of crust, where Vic Venom’s hypnotic and rocking guitar riffs meet the tribal drumming of Roy Mayorga. Al’s and Amy’s dueling vocals spit out timeless issues dealing with consumerism and the hypocrisies of organized religions. Musically, the Lie Cycle EP rocks out more in the faster and straightforward style, where Discharge meets Motörhead, and lyrics reflect the times when war and nuclear destruction are still the plague of mankind.

PRE-ORDER NAUSEA - CYBERGOD / LIE CYCLE 12"

I thought a little section of what we have been listening to or a playlist would expose even more music to you. But I didn't want to do a Spotify playlist as Spotify doesn't help punk. So I am just going to highlight a few things I have been listening to this week. Sometimes stuff is in distro other times it aint if it is in distro I will link to the record and their should be an embedded player their for you to listen or you can buy the record. Also not going to mention anything above.

Hygiene -15 Minute City 7" has been an absolute earworm it has been swirling in my head for the last two weeks, just go listen to their track 'Petrol' and curse me later.
SIKM from Atlanta, Georgia demo cassette is one I keep going back think hard hitting Oi! similar to Rixe. It is coming out on cassette but I really hope it gets the vinyl treatment
Sheer Mag have a new LP coming out late April and as they release new tracks to it I have been loving them oh soo much.
