Why the absence? I am extremely busy I run Distro-y Records and distro ( distrotable.com), life in general, and the previous setup fell apart as my old website for Distro-y crashed.
Why restart?
You and the 1000's of others in this land are interested in punk so lets make it more accessible so we can see it grow. Currently, on the island, things are not great and the ideals of punk and music - in terms of class struggle, Anti-Facism, DIY need to be brought to the fore again, with music can be one of many focal points. A newsletter that clues people into what is happening is a reference point, and it is direct and outside the sources of social media.

Support?
Support is key just like every other DIY project. Structures fall apart without support. There will be a number of ways for you to support this project by spreading the word telling people who might be interested to sign up to the newsletter over here:

Help produce the newsletter. I am extremely busy, and help is always needed to compile the news and post it.
Create a gig fund, people always complain they don't see their favourite bands here and due to the rising costs of pretty much everything, the idea would be to create a GoFundMe-style donation that people could donate a few euro to or maybe do a t-shirt fundraiser, with the money going to promoting gigs and enabling touring bands to come to Ireland so no one individual would have to take a risk, sure whats the costs of one coffee, pint or a can when you get a memory of some amazing gigs.

If you find that this gig listing is helpful and important let is know its hard to know the benefit of something if people don't tell you.
So this is a slow build, and we need a community for so let's start with that first, then get involved so more people is working collectively so things keep going, let's see things grow, and finally see the benefit of a healthier punk scene with music more accessible to you and others... It all sounds great but it all needs to be supported.
